We used this crazy song, a spooff on Ghost Riders in the Sky, at Colin's Eagle court three years ago. It was held around a campfire on a chilly autumn night. Trevor Eyre accompanied himself on the guitar and sang it for us. Someone told Patrick McManus's story of the night the bear ate Goombah, and a couple of other rough-and-tumble nature stories I'd dug up. Joel Hunt played his harmonica and we had a sketch of some incidents from Joseph Smith's life that showed he was a good and honorable man, worthy of listening to. We served chilli and a good time was had by all.
Now, what shall we do for Shane's Eagle court? Let the ideas flow forth!

Bonnie,
Hi, it's Darci (Wray) Stephens. I don't know what to tell you to do for Shane's Eagle Court except to MAKE SURE YOU SING!
Like Shanna said, we were talking about you and your voice awhile back, and I still remember hearing you sing as a kid and thinking, "That is what I want my voice to sound like."
In fact, I remember singing in a ward choir for a July Fourth celebration in Royal where you sang a descant to Be Still My Soul. You will always be in my memory, because that was one of my first experiences with feeling the Spirit so strongly. Thank you!
I'm sorry to hear about Jordan. It took my breath away when I found out. I have only good memories of him, and I always loved his humor and admired his happy-go-lucky attitude.
I'm glad to hear you're doing well. I admire your strength.
~Darci
Darci, your kind words bring those now familiar tears to my eyes, but this time they're good tears. I loved what you said about Jordan. I don't remember how close to the same age you two are, but it makes me feel good to know that you remember his happy nature. And thank you for what you said about singing on July Fourth! Tears give way to a big grin.
I tagged you for a post about your quirks, and you are so fun, I thought you would be very entertaining. Go to my blog for details. Oh, and you are fine to link me!
Shanna
p.s.I have no ideas about about an Eagle Court of Honor, but am sure my husband does. He comes from a scouting family. His dad was the Scout Executive for a long time in Boise, and then Idaho Falls. I will ask my hubby and get back to you if he has any!
Moi? Tagged? I'd better take a look at it so I can sleep on it. Decide if I really want the whole world, or the 3 people that read this blog, to know about my quirks! I work hard to keep them under wraps, you know. ;)
Oh I remember that!!! It was wonderful , I loved the way you sang it Miss Bonnie B, you were better than this guy, even !!! hmmmmm, maybe Jack's cousin needs to arrive, or sprout some eagle feathers for this upcoming event!!!! I 'll keep thinking........
