Bound for the Promised Land
On Jordan's stormy banks I stand
And cast a wishful eye
To Canaan's fair and happy land,
Where my possessions lie.
I am bound for the promised land,
I am bound for the promised land
O who will come and go with me
I am bound for the promised land.

"...we see the reason for great sorrow, and also for rejoicing..." (Alma 28:14)
So true. This is the fourth blog I've begun this year, and it's the one in which I'll attempt to blend the joy and sorrow of life most equitably. The first blog, www.ourrhabdoblog1.blogspot.com, documented my son, Jordan's, battle with rhabdomyosarcoma. In it, I strove valiantly to be cheerful, optimistic, hopeful
...until hope was gone. The second and third blogs were started when I was at a very low point emotionally. They were both called www.blndfaith-----.com, and were both deleted after only two entries. It just didn't feel right to memorialize my despair in that way. This time, I will be real, authentic, truthful.
This is new for me. It's not that I'm deceptive or anything. I've just preferred to keep the bad, sad stuff private, withdrawing for awhile until happy days were here again. When I've had to wade through affliction, I've tried not to splash too much of it on anyone else. But now I'm going to splish and splash wildly, vigorously, and see if I can learn how to have a whale of a great time doing it! You with me?
